More About Wimbledon

Wimbledon Tickets Information

The Championships, Wimbledon or The Wimbledon Championships is more commonly known as Wimbledon. It is the oldest of the four Grand Slam tournaments being first held in 1877. Wimbledon is the only tournament of the majors still held on a grass court and at it’s original venue of The All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in London, England. Each year the tournament is held for two weeks beginning in late June and ending early July.

Wimbledon has a strict dress code for competitors and it is customary that spectators eat strawberries and cream. Most recent record holder for “winner of most gentlemen’s single titles” is Roger Federer.

This year’s champions were Novak Djokovic (gentlemen’s singles), Petra Kvitova (ladies’ singles), Vasik Pospisil/Jack Sock (gentlemen’s doubles), Sara Errani/Roberta Vinci (ladies’ doubles), and Nenad Zimonjic/Samantha Stosur (mixed doubles). This year's a great year to get your Wimbledon tickets and check out the action yourself.
