More About Washington Nationals

Established: 1969 (Washington Nationals since 2005)

Stadium: Nationals Park

World Series Titles: 0

Notable Players: Gary Carter, Tim Raines, Pedro Martinez, Vladimir Guerrero, Andre Dawson, Ryan Zimmerman, Bryce Harper, Stephen Strasburg

The Washington Nationals, formerly the Montreal Expos, were poised to break through in the mid-90s. After a 94-68 season in 1993, the Expos were cruising with a 74-40 record. Then, the infamous strike cut short their season and canceled the 1994 World Series. The Expos couldn’t keep together the core players that were making their run, and Montreal fell behind once again in the National League picture.

The franchise moved to Washington in 2005 and became the Nationals. Now in their 10th season in D.C., Washington looks ready to finally bring the franchise forward. The Nationals are looking for their second NL East crown in three years and are trying to make the first World Series in franchise history. Behind young stars like Bryce Harper, Ian Desmond, Anthony Rendon and a revamped starting rotation led by Stephen Strasburg and Jordan Zimmerman, the Nationals have all of the pieces to compete for a pennant.

The Nationals play in beautiful Nationals Park, one of the newer stadiums in the major leagues. It’s beautiful concourses and terrific sight lines provide a tremendous experience for a growing population of Nationals fans. So get your Nationals tickets today and watch as Harper, Strasburg and the rest of the team strive for history in the nation’s capital.

Washington Nationals 2014 Schedule

The Nationals are cruising through their schedule this season en route to another playoffs appearance. They still have several upcoming series with division rivals like the Atlanta Braves, New York Mets and Miami Marlins, so nothing is locked up yet. The energy of the postseason will likely fill up Nationals Park this September as the Nationals look to make their first World Series appearance. Check out the complete Washington Nationals 2014 schedule as the Nationals get ready for the postseason!
