More About Washington Capitals

Washington Capitals Tickets Information

Established: 1974

Stadium: Verizon Center

Stanley Cups Won: 0

Notable Players: Peter Bondra, Mike Gartner, Alexander Ovechkin, Olaf Kolzig

Rivals: NY Islanders, NY Rangers, Pittsburgh Penguins

With only one Stanley Cup appearance and no trophy to show for it, The Capitals are looking to win their first cup in franchise history. With recent appearences in the playoffs and competeing in the difficult Metropolitan division with teams such as The Flyers, Rangers and Penguins, The Captials appear to be only a few pieces away from taking the next step.

The Capitals (Caps for short) recently have had tough seven game series in the postseason against the New York Rangers. In three straight postseason meetings, the Rangers have been victorious. As a result, the Caps-Rangers rivalry is one of the biggest in the NHL. The Capitals have had very little trouble making the playoffs in recent years. They have however had difficulty winning playoff series. Fans are hoping this trend changes immediately. The Capitals have reached the Stanley Cup finals once in 1998 season and have won eight division titles in their history. Lord Stanley’s Cup remains elusive.

Despite the difficulties in the postseason, Caps tickets are still hard to come by, plan accordingly!

Washington Capitals 2014-2015 schedule

The Capitals begin their season October 9th as they host the Montreal Canadiens. The Capitals finish their season at home against two of the stronger teams in the eastern conference, The Boston Bruins and the New York Rangers. The final two games for the Caps could be massive in terms of playoff seeding in April.
