More About San Jose Sharks

Established: 1991

Stadium: SAP Center

Stanley Cups Won: 0

Notable Players: Patrick Marleau, Joe Thornton, Owen Nolan, Evgeni Nabokov

Rivals: L.A. Kings, Anaheim Ducks

The San Jose Sharks are the northern most hockey club in California. Established in 1991 the Sharks are amongst the newer franchises in the NHL. It has taken the Sharks some time to find success in the NHL. In the 2008-2009 season the sharks won the Presidents trophy for the most points by an NHL team during the regular season. With six divisions titles, The Sharks look to take the next step in their organization and make an extended run in the postseason.

With experienced players like Joe Pavelski and Joe Thornton and young talent such as Matt Nieto, the SHarks have some pieces that can contest in the Western Conference. With the loss of Dan Boyle in defense and a question mark at the goaltender position, there are also areas of improvement the franchise needs to attend to in order for their hockey club to take the next step in the postseason. After a tough seven game series loss to the Kings in the first round after leading the series 3-0. A tough blow for Sharks fans, but do not be surprised to see the Sharks in playoff contention again come next weekend.

San Jose Sharks 2014-2015 Schedule

The Sharks begin their season with a matchup with some bad blood from their seven game playoff series in the playoffs last season when they travel down the coast to Los Angeles to battle the Kings. The Sharks then end their season the same way it started, away from home at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
