More About San Diego Padres

Established: 1969

Stadium: PETCO Park

World Series Titles: 0

Notable Players: Tony Gwynn, Trevor Hoffman, Dave Winfield, Jake Peavy, Adrian Gonzalez, Andy Ashby, Chase Headley, Seth Smith

The San Diego Padres have yet to break through and win an elusive World Series title since their formation in 1969, but they are still one of the more respected franchises in MLB. A lot of that stems from former Hall of Fame outfielder Tony Gwynn, who brought incredible class to the games for the duration of his 20-year career with the team. Gwynn led San Diego to to their only two World Series, in 1984 and 1998, and the team hasn’t been able to reach those heights since his retirement.

But the Padres are still in good hands management-wise. They are planning for the future, and San Diego has pieces to be able to compete in a few years. Behind players like Seth Smith and Cameron Maybin, the fans at PETCO park will have more to cheer in the coming seasons. Plus, San Diego is one of the nicest cities you could ever think to watch a baseball game. Get your Padres tickets and enjoy one of the nicest stadium experiences the MLB has to offer.
