More About New York Islanders

Established: 1972

Stadium: Nassau Coliseum

Stanley Cups Won: 4 (1979–80, 1980–81, 1981–82, 1982–83)

Notable Players: Mike Bossy, Bryan Trottier, Denis Potvin, John Tavares

Rivals: Philadelphia Flyers, Pittsburgh Penguins, New York Rangers

The 2014-2015 season marks a new era for the New York Islanders. The Isles are leaving Long Island for their first season at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. Previously the organization played its home games at the Nassau Coliseum. The Islanders are looking to change their culture and get back to winning ways at a new venue. A venue that is bigger and more importantly, easier for fans to access.

It has been a tough few years for the Islanders. They hope the change of environment will help the players and also attract free agent players to play in Brooklyn. With Key Players such as Captain John Tavares, Kyle Okposo and Kyle Grabner, the Islanders are hoping to bring a new life to this franchise in the coming years. With the added attraction of the Barclays Center, tickets will be going fast!
