The defending Rose Bowl champs kick off this season at home against Jacksonville State after playing a historic season. Ending with an 8-0 run, led by quarterback Connor Cook, MSU was the 14th team in the Big Ten to hit that mark and making it the first time in school history.

Returning this season is Shilique Calhoun, Kurtis Drummond, Trae Waynes, and Taiwan Jones for the Spartans defense though we will see how they hold up after MSU lost four players from their defensive line to the NFL draft. A breakout performance last year from Jeremy Langford, who led the team in rushing yards, carries, and total touchdowns will look to build on that momentum to bolster the Spartans offense.

Michigan State Spartans Schedule 2014

Head coach Mark Dantonio is coming into his 8th season with MSU with a .688 record overall, being responsible for 2 of their past Big Ten championships (2010 and 2013). Spartan Stadium hosting a 75,005 person seating for attendance, holds more than 80,000 spectators for each of their home games. This season we will see if their offensive weapons can make up for their defensive deficiencies.
