More About Kansas Jayhawks Basketball

First Season: 1898

Arena: Allen Fieldhouse

NCAA Tournament Championships: Three (1952, 1988, 2008)

Notable Players: Perry Ellis, Cliff Alexander

The Kansas Jayhawks are one of the oldest and most successful college basketball teams in existence. The university has won five championships in total (three in the tournament era), made 14 Final Four appearances since 1940, and has won the Big 12 Regular Season Title nine straight seasons. Many great coaches have led the program, from Phog Allen, Larry Brown, Roy Williams and now Bill Self, and terrific players like Wilt Chamberlain, Jo Jo White, Danny Manning, Paul Pierce, Kirk Hinrich and Mario Chalmers have called Kansas home. With such a sustained run of success, it doesn’t appear that Kansas will be falling off anytime soon. The Jayhawks are ready for another big year under Self, and Allen Fieldhouse will be the place to be this season.

Kansas Jayhawks 2014 Schedule

The Jayhawks are looking to continue their dominant play in the Big 12, and a stacked non-conference schedule will have them prepared for conference play. Games against teams like Florida and UNLV will give Kansas tests as they get set against foes Texas, Oklahoma State and Iowa State. There are always good reasons to attend a Jayhawks game at Allen Fieldhouse, but with the amount of great matchups this season, it’s going to be a prime year to see a Kansas game.
