Despite a 2-14 record this past year, the Texans made some improvements in the offseason. Their defense only looks to get better with No. 1 overall draft pick Jadeveon Clowney added to the roster. The promising rookie looks to make immediate impact in their pass rushing schemes working in tandem with J.J. Watt, a Defensive Player of the Year candidate.
The Texans also drafted receiver DeAndre ‘Nuk’ Hopkins in the first-round who is known for his vertical leap, ability to track the ball, and the use of his hands. Along with Andre Johnson, if the Texans can get quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick to perform at a high level, the Texans offense will be much improved, an area they suffered with last year. Arian Foster looks to come back strong, and the Texans have added depth at running back with veteran Ronnie Brown and reserve William Powell.
The hiring of Bill O’Brien as their head coach should also improve their offense. The addition of Romeo Crennel as their defensive coordinator to a defense with plenty of talent, the Texans front line is poised to be a stronger unit.
The Houston Texans can possibly get back into the AFC race depending on how well their starting quarterback performs. The AFC South is very open. One thing is for sure, the Houston Texans horrid season last year will be a thing of the past. So get ready with your Houston Texans tickets and come see the team in 2014.
