The Denver Broncos have made the playoffs for the past three seasons (2011-2013), and appeared in the 2013 Super Bowl (XLVIII). The team’s extremely strong offense, combined with their recently strengthened defense, make the Broncos one of the top contenders for the Super Bowl in the NFL.
Quarterback Peyton Manning, wide receivers Demaryius Thomas and Wes Welker, and running back Montee Ball make up the Broncos’ high-powered offense, which is considered one of the best in the AFC. The club acquired defensive end DeMarcus Ware and safety T.J. Ward in 2014 in effort to strengthen those positions and move toward their goal of developing a hard-hitting, powerful defense.
The Broncos will be one of the most exciting teams to watch live this season as they make their way back to the Super Bowl, this time to prove they are not choke artists. With a more fully rounded team, following the momentum last season, the Broncos game schedule will be filled with hard-fought wins against some of their biggest rivals. This season is the one to find Denver Broncos tickets.
Denver Broncos Rivals
Broncos v. Raiders
The Oakland Raiders are undeniably any Broncos fan most hated team. The two teams have shared the same division since 1960. The rivalry flared up in 1977, when the Broncos defeated the Raiders in the AFC Championship and advanced to their first Super Bowl. The teams have since shared some very notable moments, including a Raiders’ comeback from 24-0 at halftime. Though the Raiders have fallen behind in the AFC West in recent years, the teams remain bitter rivals. The joy of beating each other will likely never wear away.
Broncos v. Browns
The Broncos’ rivalry with the Browns began in 1986, when the two teams met in the AFC Championship for the first of three AFC Championship matches between the teams in a four-year span (1986-1989). The matchups included some unforgettable moments, some of which gained their own names. The Drive was coined in the 1986 AFC Championship game, when Broncos QB John Elway drove the team 98 yards down the field in 5 minutes to tie the game with 37 seconds left, setting up a field goal win. The 1987 AFC Championship is remembered infamously for The Fumble, when Browns RB Earnest Byner fumbled in a game-winning attempt at Denver’s 8-yard line with 1:12 left in regulation. The teams have maintained a rivalry spurred long ago by these moments, which the Browns will likely never forget.
Denver Broncos 2014 Schedule
The Broncos returned to the Super Bowl for the first time since 1998 last year and look to make it back-to-back appearances this season. In addition to their AFC West games against the San Diego Chargers, Oakland Raiders and Kansas City Chiefs, Denver is also slated to take on teams from the NFC West and AFC East. That means several exciting games on the Denver Broncos schedule to look forward to.
