More About Cleveland Indians

Established: 1894 (Cleveland Indians since 1915)

Stadium: Progressive Field

World Series Titles: 2 (1920, 1948)

Notable Players: Tris Speaker, Larry Doby, Bob Feller, Kenny Lofton, Jim Thome, Omar Vizquel, C.C. Sabathia

The Cleveland Indians haven’t experienced much sustained success since winning their second World Series in 1948, but that hasn’t stopped the Tribe from fielding competitive teams. The Cleveland Indians had a string of dominant years in the late 90s behind players like Albert Belle, Roberto Alomar, David Justice and a hard-throwing rotation, but players left and they couldn’t keep things going.

However, Terry Francona was brought in and changed the culture of the Indians right away, Last season, the Indians finished 2nd in the division and earned a surprising Wild Card berth. While the team has taken a step back this year (largely due to injuries), there is a renewed spirit in the city (not quite like in Major League, but you get the idea).

Cleveland plays in Progressive Field, one of the nicest places to take in a ballgame in America. The stadium sits right in the heart of Cleveland and is one of the more affordable tickets out there. There isn’t a bad seat in the house, and Cleveland has some of the nicest fans around. If you haven’t been to an Indians game, now is the time. Get your Indians tickets now and take in a great game!

Cleveland Indians 2014 Schedule

The Cleveland Indians hold divisional rivalries with the Detroit Tigers, Kansas City Royals, and Chicago White Sox. Because the Tigers are the current class of the AL Central, they are their fiercest rivals. However, Cleveland holds an in-state rivalry with the Cincinnati Reds. The “Ohio Bowl” now takes place every year over the course of four games, two at each ballpark. Anytime the Indians and Reds play, sparks could fly. Check out the entire Cleveland Indians 2014 and find the game that you want to see!
