More About Calgary Flames

Established: 1972

Stadium: Scotiabank Saddledome

Stanley Cups Won: 1 (1988-89)

Notable Players: Jarome Iginla, Theoren Fleury, Gary Roberts, Johnny Gaudreau

Rivals: Vancouver Canucks, Edmonton Oilers

Third time’s the charm they say. The Calgary Flames are the 3rd hockey team to represent that great city, coming after the Calgary Tigers and Calgary Cowboys. They only followed the Tigers, though, in bringing Calgary its second Stanley Cup in 1988-89.

The Flames wouldn’t return to the playoffs and the Finals until 2004, where they took the Tampa Bay Lightning to 7 games before losing in double-overtime. This unlikely run and eventual loss was well-received by fans, with over 30k fans making the trip to Florida for the final game and instituting the Red Mile party zone in the city of Calgary.

Unfortunately, the Flames haven’t returned to the playoffs in the last 5 seasons, but with Mike Giordano as the new captain, fans can grab their Flames tickets and hope for another surprise run to the Finals this season!

Calgary Flames 2014-15 Schedule

The Flames kick-off the new season at home this year against nearby rival the Vancouver Canucks and end the season in Canada against the Winnipeg Jets. It should be a fun year to watch the Flames take on all of their usual Pacific Division rivals and mount a comeback to their 6th place 2013-14 season. You can check the Flames 2014-15 schedule above and grab cheap Flames tickets to the game of your choice.
