Music Producer Kim Fowley Dies at Age 75

The chameleonic songwriter, producer, film maker, radio actor and style icon Kim Fowley passed away in Los Angeles, age 75.

Probably one of the most versatile behind-the-scenes figures of the rock industry, Fowley is well known for the foundation and production of the 70's female rock band the Runaways (featuring now iconic musicians Joan Jett, Lita Ford and Cherie Currie).

The quirky performer worked and contributed with multiple generations of music. He co-produced Paul Revere and the Raiders, wrote a B-side for Cat Stevens, played for Frank Zappa, he worked with Ariel Pink, discovered Steel Breeze and even made an appearance in the Beyoncé video for "Haunted."

Some have said there was no arc in his career, but it was rather the expression of his restless artistic persona, to appear almost madly in the most disparate scenarios. Not to mention, his fans will dearly remember him for his most emblematic song, "The Trip."
