2015 Golden Globe Awards Recap

by Photo of Theodore Liggians

Tina Fey and Amy Poehler took shots at everyone at this year’s Golden Globes.

The hosting duo, Amy Poehler and Tina Fey, served their third and final year as hosts of the Golden Globe Awards and managed to keep the bar high with the laughs. Poehler and Fey took shots at Bill Cosby, the North Korean/Sony situation and other controversial topics..

The night was full of jokes by both hosts and award presenters. A notable moment in the night was George Clooney being given the Cecile B. DeMille Award for lifetime achievement, as he presented a heartfelt speech. Another significant moment was Michael Keaton accepting the award for Best Actor Award for Birdman with another tearful speech.

Jane the Virgin star, Gina Rodriguez, officially became a star with her first award for Best Actress in a TV Series. The star accepted the award with an emotional speech as her mom watched on from the crowd with tears. More awards were given out to stars that worked hard and deserved them like J. K. Simmons, Maggie Gyllenhaal and Alejandro González Inarritu.

Some of the presenters included Jared Leto, Jennifer Lopez, Jeremy Renner, Kevin Hart, Salma Hayek and more big name actors and actresses. Most of them were all smiles with their jokes and jabs while announcing the winner of an award. Hart followed his normal comical child-like behavior with Hayek presenting alongside, trying not to laugh.
