New York looks to end its two-game skid against the league’s best offense.

Giants In Must-Win Situation Versus Colts

After the drama that unfolded in the NFL yesterday, it will be a tough act for Monday Night Football to follow. The (3-4) New York Giants host the (5-3) Indianapolis Colts at a cold and windy MetLife Stadium for the first Monday Night game in November. It looks like a game the Giants MUST win if they want any shot of competing in the division or conference.

The Giants face an explosive offense led by the NFL’s next great quarterback, Andrew Luck. The Colt’s offense heading into Monday nights game leads the league in points per game, offensive yards and passing yards per game. The team gets veteran wideout Reggie Wayne back to pair with breakout star T.Y. Hilton. They also rank among the league's top-five rushing teams behind the dual running attack of former Giant Ahmad Bradshaw and Trent Richardson. The Giants will have their hands full this evening trying to contain Andrew Luck and preventing big plays, especially considering injuries to key players like Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie and Jason Pierre-Paul.

The Giants are coming off two losses at the hands of the two top teams in the NFC East. After being blanked 27-0 in Philly, The Giants came up short 31-21 on the road in Dallas. A loss in week 9 could dash any hopes at a division title. A 3-5 start would also make it very difficult to clinch a wildcard berth. A loss tonight may leave Giants fans looking ahead to next year's for any signs of optimism.

Ahead of tonights clash, Giants GM Jerry Reese has said he would like to see Eli Manning “let it rip.” Reese believes that the new offense under Ben McAdoo has led to some cautious offensive tendencies. Reese would like to see Eli let loose, throw more balls down the field and make more explosive plays. It's difficult to do that without top weapons like Victor Cruz and Rashad Jennings, but perhaps Monday night is the beginning?
