The Weeknd Announces Fall Tour

The Weeknd has been killing it lately. By lately, I mean for the past year. He's got a killer R&B voice that pairs pretty perfectly with some of today's most popular rappers. With the release of his platinum-certified landmark debut of Trilogy in November of last year, featuring a whopping 30 songs, he's pleased both fans and critics. After its release, the collection of mixtapes dropped into #4 on the Billboard Top 200, and digitally reached #2 on the iTunes Overall Album Chart, and still holds strong on the R&B charts. The New York Times called him "other worldly," The Source titled him "Songbird of his generation," and The Guardian described him as a "blatantly provocative and daring new artist." He has a futuristic Alt-R&B sound that merges with chaotic undertones. His songs ring in tortured-bliss, like someone calmly walking into an electric chair. Haunting, in the best way possible.

His sophomore album will be accompanied by Fall tour that starts in September. Locations span all across North America, mostly in large theaters. The tour is appropriately named "The Fall Tour." Simple enough. His second album Kiss Land, which is supposed release "near the end of the summer." The album will drop through Republic. Opening on the tour will be Austrialian electronic dance producer Anna Lunoe as well as LA-based singer Banks, a diverse pair that was hand-picked by The Weeknd sure to bring a dynamic evening to anyone attending.
