Today, All Tomorrow's Parties has announced that their September I'll Be Your Mirror music festival has been relocated from Asbury Park, New Jersey to Pier 36 in New York City. According to ATP, I'll Be Your Mirror was scheduled to migrate to Pier 36 beginning with the 2013 festival, yet “due to unavoidable logistical concerns (along with a lack of available fan accommodations in Asbury Park),” they were forced to make the move one year early.
The Afghan Whigs will still be headlining, but this change in venue does come with several changes in lineup. Unfortunately, the festival will be losing several performers such as Louis C.K. and Sharon Van Etten. On a positive note, a slew of new acts will be added including Lightning Bolt, Philip Glass and Tyondai Braxton, and Chavez. ATP's Barry Hogan released the following statement regarding the alterations made in the festival's location and lineup:
We hope that the new venue will make for an incredible event and open up many other accommodation options to fans who were unable to find rooms in Asbury Park. We sincerely apologise to those inconvenienced by the move and hope that any problems caused may be minimised by the relatively small distance between the two locations. Anyone who is unable to attend due to the move or due to the cancellation of Louis CK can claim a full refund by contacting their ticket agent between now and July 31st.
