In this article…

With SXSW dominating the month of March, Big K.R.I.T. takes this time to release a song honoring Texas. The Mississippi-native rapper represents the south in his new record, “B4SXSW.”

The song has a different sound, compared to Big K.R.I.T.’s usual sound; it’s chopped-and-screwed, adding a slower tempo.

Big K.R.I.T. is set to headline the #TOSTMXSW showcase on Mar. 21 in Austin alongside Casey Veggies, Smoke DZA, Chevy Woods, Two-9 and more.

In another tune Big K.R.I.T. also released soon after, "K.R.I.T. 4EVA (Chapter One)," (which references his previous works: Return of 4Eva and 4EVA and a Day) talks about his depression; fighting to be where he’s at right now, fighting to get his name known; his successes and failures. He also mentions friends and loved ones that he's lost.

Notable lyrics from "K.R.I.T. 4EVA (Chapter One)" include: But on the while I'm hurting inside, tucking my pride/Knowing I'm ahead of the game, shit/I wrote my best songs on the grey hound of the A/Bitch I swear I ate a sandwich a day/I'm talking shit with the junkies at the race track/Pedaling CD's that most niggas ain't played/Gave it for free, cause most n----s ain't paid. It's evident when listening to "K.R.I.T 4EVA (Chapter One)" the tune is full of passion and sentiment from the southern rapper.
