More About Atlanta Braves

Established: 1871 (Based in Atlanta since 1966)

Stadium: Turner Field

World Series Titles: 3 (1914, 1957, 1995)

Notable Players: Hank Aaron, Greg Maddux, John Smoltz, Chipper Jones, Warren Spahn, Andruw Jones, Freddie Freeman, Eddie Mathews

The Atlanta Braves are one of the oldest and most decorated franchises in all of baseball. Before they were the Atlanta Braves, they went by several monikers: Boston Red Stockings, Boston Bees, Boston Beaneaters and eventually the Boston Braves before their move to Atlanta. The Braves are steeped in history. Three World Series titles, 17 National League pennants, 12 NL East titles, over a dozen Hall of Famers. Some of the greatest players to ever grace the field played for the Braves: Hank Aaron, Greg Maddux, Warren Spahn, Chipper Jones and several more.

The Braves seem to be perennial contenders in the playoff picture. The Braves won the NL East title 11 straight seasons from 1995 to 2005 and have made the postseason in three out of the last four years. A new group of stars is leading this current group of Braves: first baseman Freddie Freeman, outfielders Jason Heyward and Justin Upton, shortstop Andrelton Simmons, starters Julio Tehran and Alex Wood, and closer Craig Kimbrel.

NL East play is always difficult, and the Braves find themselves in a hole this year. But with all that talent, you can never count the Braves out. The faithful fans show up to Turner Field in droves to cheer on their Braves, so get your Braves tickets as the team makes its playoff push to end the 2014 season!

Atlanta Braves 2014 Schedule

The Braves play host to some of the best talent in the National League on a daily basis. The NL East is loaded with incredible young players like Miami Marlins slugger Giancarlo Stanton, Washington Nationals ace Stephen Strasburg, Nationals phenom Bryce Harper, New York Mets veteran David Wright, and Philadelphia Phillies starter Cole Hamels. The Mets and Braves have an especially heated rivalry, while the Nationals are beginning to challenge the Braves for NL East supremacy. As the season winds down, check out the Atlanta Braves 2014 schedule and see which games and teams you want to see!
