Bio and News

“I got a peaceful, easy feeling.” That pretty much sums up anyone’s listening experience with The Eagles, one of the greatest rock bands in history. They’ve sold over 150 million albums worldwide, making them one of the best-selling acts ever. And when the Eagles tour nowadays, it’s a big deal and a can’t-miss show.

The Eagles were founded in 1971 by Glenn Frey, Don Henley, Bernie Leadon and Randy Meisner. They quickly burst on the scene and rose to stardom with the song “Take It Easy” off their self-titled debut album in 1972. The hits just kept on coming after that and culminated with the band’s seminal album: Hotel California (featuring for the first time new band member Joe Walsh). The album and the eponymous single cemented The Eagles as one of the best rock bands of the era, and if you caught the band during their crazed touring schedule back then, it must have been an impressive show.

After another commercial hit following Hotel California, the band was drained after relentless touring and the band members became strained. The Eagles broke up in 1980. The individual members went on to have success with solo careers before eventually reuniting in 1994. The “Hell Freezes Over” tour was a gigantic success, spurring future reunion tours and new singles from the band. The Eagles were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1998, and all seven members of the band played “Take It Easy” and “Hotel California”.

In 2013, a career-spanning documentary, The History of The Eagles, was released on Showtime that chronicled the career of the band. It resulted in another reunion tour, and based on its success, The Eagles will likely be back on the road sooner rather than later. So check out the tour schedule and grab The Eagles tickets so you can see this legendary band live!
