The Orange Bowl has been captivating college football fans since 1935. The first ever Orange Bowl took place on January 1, 1935, when Bucknell shut out Miami 26-0. Since that day, the annual championship has featured some of the most exciting college football games in bowl history, including last year's thrilling 40-35 comeback win by Clemson over Ohio State. Back in the old format, the Orange Bowl crowned five national champions and played host to some of the finest college football players in the sport's history. Joe Namath won the first Orange Bowl MVP in 1965, and some fantastic players have taken home the hardware after him: Bernie Kosar, Raghib Ismail, Carson Palmer and Andrew Luck just to name a few.

Under the new college football playoff format, the traditional Big Four Bowl Games will rotate to host the playoff semifinal games. This year, the Orange Bowl isn't one of those sites, but it will still field dominant teams from the ACC and either the SEC or Big Ten.

Each year, the Orange Bowl is played at beautiful Sun Life Stadium in Miami, Florida.
