Maroon 5 Bio
It must be awesome to be in a successful band with the same guys that you went to high school with. That’s the kind of success that Maroon 5 enjoys. The guys started playing together under the name Kara’s Flowers in 1994 and released an album, The Fourth World, in 1997 with Reprise Records. The album floundered, though, and the guys parted ways with the label to attend college. They regrouped in 2001, adding James Valentine to become Maroon 5.
In 2002, the band released their first album, Songs About Jane, under their new name. They got a lot of radio play with their first single, “Harder to Breathe”, which helped the album debut at number 6 on the Billboard Top 200. They later gained worldwide recognition with “This Love” and “She Will Be Loved” and eventually won a Grammy for Best New Artist in 2005.
Maroon 5 continues to have success today, and Maroon 5 tickets continue to sell out across the country. This pop-rock band is here to stay and should be making waves soon in arenas near you.
