The defending champs return for a chance to make a run to remain undefeated back to back. The Seminoles may be battle tested this coming season but, Jimbo Fisher has the necessary pieces to make this run a possibility, especially in a relatively weak ACC. The Noles went 14-0 in 2013-14 to take it all against the Auburn Tigers, with a 34-31 victory.

Heisman Trophy winner and sophomore year quarterback, Jameis Winston, who put up record numbers his freshmen year with 4,057 passing yards and 40 passing touchdowns, an ACC record will look to take the Seminoles to another championship run. Behind an offensive line led by top prospect, Cameron Ervin the Noles offensive line will prove to be elite and the best in the nation. Also, returning is Defensive MVP P.J. Williams.

Florida State Seminoles Schedule 2014

The stakes are high and with Florida being named CFB’s AP No. 1 for the sixth time in school history, everything is bet on the Noles winning another national title. The last time the Seminoles were selected CFB AP No. 1 in 1999 they won the national title when they defeated Virginia Tech in the Sugar Bowl.

Key Matchups

Sept. 20 vs. Clemson - Last year, Clemson faced FSU only to end in embarrassing defeat as the Noles cruised by with a 51-14 victory. This will be a crucial matchup for the Noles despite Clemson having lost Tajh Boyd, Sammy Watkins, and Matarvis Bryant to the NFL. An FSU loss at this point could cost them the ACC Atlantic Division title and the ACC title.

Oct. 18 vs. Notre Dame - The Fighting Irish will look to put the Seminoles on the ropes with dual-threat quarterback Everett Golson making a return to Notre Dame. Supported with talent at receiver and running back, Notre Dame can prove to be an offensive threat. Although, with only nine of their starters returning this season, the Irish may find themselves on the wrong end if they struggle.

Nov. 29 vs. Florida - Newly hired offensive coordinator Kurt Roper’s spread offense can help the skills of quarterback Jeff Driskel excel with his talents. If the Gators young talent at receiver can emerge along with running backs Kelvin Taylor, and Mack Brown could challenge the Noles.
