Giants Will Beat Cowboys Because of Quarterback Advantage

In this article…

There was a time not too long ago when neither the Giants nor the Cowboys had a chance to win the NFC East. The Philadelphia Eagles had it all wrapped up.

But that was before a game was even played. The Eagles are 4-8 and tied with the Redskins for last in the division.

The Cowboys (7-5) lead the East by one game over the Giants (6-6) heading into Sunday night. While their seasons haven't always been pretty, both teams are in prime position to make the playoffs. New York and Dallas play each other again after this matchup, so chances are the team that plays best down the stretch will in fact make the playoffs.

This game will be loaded with talent: Ahmad Bradshaw, Hakeem Nicks, Victor Cruz, Justin Tuck, Jason Pierre-Paul; Demarco Murray, Miles Austin, Dez Bryant, DeMarcus Ware. The list goes on.

But luckily for the Giants, they have a clear advantage at the most critical spot on the field: quarterback.

This is how the Packers feel every week about Aaron Rodgers, how the Patriots feel every week about Tom Brady, how the Saints feel every week about Drew Brees.

It is how the Giants feel now about Eli Manning.

In the most important game of the season, at the most important position, the Giants are certain they have the edge.

They are the ones with the elite quarterback.

They are the ones with the big-game quarterback.

They are the ones with the quarterback with the Super Bowl ring.

Tony Romo? Good quarterback. Dangerous quarterback.

Tony Romo has no ring.

Tony Romo has won one playoff game.

Tony Romo isn’t the fourth-best quarterback in the NFL, behind Rodgers, Brady and Brees.

Eli Manning is.
