Periphery, Nothing More, Wovenwar and Thank You Scientist Rock New York City

New York fans were in for a serious treat as a sold out crowd packed Irving Plaza for an unforgettable night of heavy riffs. Periphery headlined the night with awesome support from Nothing More, Wovenwar and Thank You Scientist.

Periphery wasted no time as they began the set with the one that started it all “Icarus Lives!” Nearly half of their set was made up of brand new tracks off of their new two disc release Juggernaut.

The Progressive Metalers unleashed new obliterating tracks such as “22 Faces,” “The Bad Thing” and “Gravless” as well as melodic heavy hitters like “The Scourge” and “Alpha.”

With three guitarists and a sound that can go from soothing and melodic to a guttural punch in the face, seeing Periphery is nothing short of a enthralling sensory overload that is utterly addictive.

The night ended with a face melting encore which included “Ragnarok” and “Masamune.” As soon as you’re finished at a Periphery show all you can do is wait patiently until they return.

You won’t ever see another band perform like Nothing More, they have vigor onstage that is relentless and their innovative stage presence is unmatched. The group cranked out infectious songs “Christ Copyright,” “The Matthew Effect” and “This Is The Time (Ballast) from their self-titled major label debut.

With their instrumental inventions and massive percussive presence onstage, Nothing More are riveting and provide for one of the most distinctive live shows you can see. Make sure you catch them when they’re in town!

Ex-As I Lay Dying members and Shane Blay of Oh, Sleeper have teamed up to form Wovenwar. The band played an energetic set and are touring in promotion of their self-titled debut.

New Jersey seven-headed monster that is Thank You Scientist opened up the show with a unique set that got the crowd going early on.
