Amy Schumer's 'Trainwreck' Trailer Finally Debuts

The comedian’s first feature film has a hilarious and star-studded trailer with Bill Hader and LeBron James?

Trainwreck, the feature debut from comedian Amy Schumer and director Judd Apatow, hit the web yesterday. Schumer stars as a young adult living in a world of arrested emotional development after her father (Colin Quinn) brainwashed her from a young age that monogamy isn't realistic. So she parades through one night stand after one night stand totally content to live a free-wheeling life. That is until she meets a sports surgeon (Bill Hader) while on assignment for her men's magazine and starts to enter an actual relationship.

It took me a while to get on board with Amy Schumer. I had typecast her as just another raunchy female comedian, but her humor is much more intelligent than the subject matter might initially success. From her stand-up to her critically acclaimed Comedy Central series Inside Amy Schumer, she is really growing her profile and platform. Her collaboration with Apatow seems like a match made in heaven, as the pair's comedic sensibilities are right on point. From the looks of the trailer, the two have created something pretty solidly funny that could potentially avoid some of the tropes we've become familiar with in the painfully stale rom-com game.

Another thing this film has going for it is the level of comedic talent present. Aside from heavy hitters Schumer and Hader, Trainwreck also features Vanessa Bayer, Dave Attell, Mike Birbiglia, the aforementioned Colin Quinn, Tim Meadows, Nikki Glaser, Tilda Swinton, Brie Larson, Ezra Miller, Randall Park, Jon Glaser, Method Man, and a handful of celebrities making cameos as themselves. Cleveland Cavaliers star LeBron James is the most notable of the bunch. He steals the two scenes of the trailer that he's in talking about watching Downton Abbey and referring to sex as "intercourse" excitedly. It's a side that LeBron shows less of these days, and it's a refreshing site.

Trainwreck is set to hit theaters July 15.
