Rock in Rio Lands in Vegas, 2015 Line-Up Announced!

Festival lovers, mark your calendars. Considered to be one of the world’s largest festivals, Rock in Rio will make its first American appearance, settling in Las Vegas for a two-weekends from May 8th to May 16th!

The first weekend will see metal icons Metallica opening the dances, along with Gwen Stephani’s band, No Doubt. Further confirmed artists include Deftones, Linkin Park, Foster the People, Gary Clark Jr., Coheed and Cambria, Rise Against, Sepultura, and Bleachers.

The second weekend will unveil the hottest hits of contemporary pop, featuring young diva Taylor Swift, as well as Bruno Mars, Sam Smith, Charli XCX, Empire of the Sun, John Legend, Jesie J, Tove Lo, and Mikky Ekko.

Las Vegas pays the Brazilian-born festival due respect, as the works have begun for the construction of its hosting citadel, City of Rock. Echoing the Rio de Janeiro festival location, Cidade do Rock, the Vegas version will be built as an eclectic open-air venue.

With 5 stages, a width of 33 acres, and a capacity of 80.000 people, City of Rock will reproduce all the locations where Rock in Rio has so far ventured. Its streets will take festival goers from Brazilian cities, to UK suburbs, Lisbon beaches, and American towns. Each region will offer geographically-fitting food, shopping, as well as street art, for an amazingly comprehensive festival experience.

Rock in Rio has embarked on its North American journey thanks to a partnership with Cirque du Soleil, and MGM Resorts International. Rumours go that according to the deal, the festival will be held every other year from 2015 to 2019, and Rock in Rio lovers should make sure not to miss any of it!
