Carson Palmer Signs Three Year Extension with the Cardinals

In this article…

UPDATE: Palmer left Sunday's game against the Rams after what appeared to be a serious knee injury. It is believed that Palmer tore his left ACL, the same injury he suffered with the Cincinnati Bengals nine years ago. It's a terrible blow for a quarterback who had finally regained his footing and incredibly unfortunate timing considering he just signed this extension. All our best wishes go to Carson Palmer. - Ross

In Carson the Arizona Cardinals trust. Carson Palmer, who was set to become a free agent at the end of the season, signed a three-year extension with the team on Friday afternoon.

After a 7-1 start, it comes as no surprise that the Cardinals are beginning to find themselves with Carson Palmer running the show. With one of the leagues best defenses, the Cardinals believe in Carson Palmer managing their football games. He is proving his worth. Palmer has taken the mantra of ball control to heart, leading a passing game that has only thrown three interceptions and still manages to be 13th in total passing. A fairly average offense backed by an excellent defense has led the cardinals to a 7-1 record and the lead in the NFC West.

Although the specifics of Palmer’s contract are undisclosed, it is believed to be in the neighborhood of $50 million dollars. The contract sees the veteran in a Cardinals uniform through the 2017 season. Last season, Carson Palmer became the first player to throw for over 4,000 yards for three different teams, and Arizona made sure that number won't balloon to four anytime soon..
