Jets Fans Raise 10K for Billboard Against Jets GM John Idzik

In this article…

After a 1-8 start, it is understandable for the New York Jets faithful to be upset with the organization and management of their football team. After winning their opening game of the season, the Jets have failed to win another one. In those eight straight losses, there has been no definitive regular starting quarterback and the defense has allowed tons of points, not something typical of a Rex Ryan defense. Nothing this season has gone right for New York.

The fans have had enough. A group of Jet’s fans hoped to raise money for a billboard that urges for Jets president Woody Johnson to fire GM John Idzik. The goal was set at $10,000 for advertisement space. They have reached their goal in about a week. The fans took to social media platforms with data and charts showing where the donations and angry Jet fans are located. The donations came from all over the country. Jets nation is looking for improvement and ultimately change within their organization.

Although this season is a lost cause, the Jets may want to think about tanking the remainder of the season to gain a higher draft pick in the upcoming draft. It is no surprise that the most needed position for the Jets is quarterback in this next draft. Unfortunately for the Jets, this upcoming draft class is looking a bit slim at the quarterback position. It will be interesting to see how the remainder of the season pans out for the Jets and how they will approach the upcoming draft. It is a difficult time for the Jets. To their credit, their fan base has stuck with them the whole way. Hopefully Gang Green has more to look forward to in upcoming years.
