Nightmare and the Cat announce more than just a new LP

Nightmare and the Cat have put their best foot forward and are extending themselves by releasing not just a new LP but a live video on LA Weekly and five summer Spotify playlists.

First things first, on July 22nd Nightmare and the Cat will be releasing their debut LP, Simple. The LP will feature 11 tracks of thought-provoking acoustic, illustrating intimate family relationships and other personal experiences for the band.

Following their LP release, the five-piece Los Angeles-based band will be premiering "Alvarado" on July 23rd. The live video will be premiered on LA Weekly at the album release party at The Roxy.

Pure Volume have also released the band's five summer Spotify playlists. Each playlist has been constructed by each band member and features a variety of summer-inspired sounds.

Nightmare and the Cat formed in 2010, but their musical story started much earlier than their professional journey.

The two musical powerhouses that lead the band, Django Stewart and Sam Stewart, grew up in England and began a musically inspired adventure as young children teaching themselves to play guitar.

Initially the two brothers took very similar, but separate, musical paths playing in different bands. It wasn't until three years ago that Sam asked Django to join him for a songwriting session in LA.

Since then, Nightmare and the Cat have formed by gaining their third, fourth and fifth members who, together, went on to produce a self-titled EP. They have now gone on to create their first LP with producer Eric Valentine.

Despite their busy schedule, Nightmare and the Cat have still managed to squeeze in a few tour dates, as seen below.
