Damon Albarn Tour Dates Announced

‘Everyday Robots’ is out today, and so are some additional U.S. tour dates for Albarn.

Damon Albarn Tour Dates Announced

A day I've been eagerly anticipating for quite some time has finally arrived: Damon Albarn's debut solo album Everyday Robots is finally out. The frontman of Blur and the mastermind behind Gorillaz has had a long, storied career, but in all that time he hasn't released a true solo project to his name. Sure, Gorillaz could pretty much count, but he hasn't put out anything quite like Everyday Robots

The album is incredibly personal. It's moody, but it depresses in a way that still arouses a sense of wonder at the arrangements and songwriting. I'm sure after subsequent listens it will grow on me even more.

Something else I was waiting for was an announcement of tour dates for Albarn. Since he was already slated to perform a few festival dates, I assumed some additional tour dates would be announced. Yesterday, those dates were revealed. While there aren't that many, we do have Damon Albarn tour dates to look forward to in June. After the Governors Ball Music Festival, Albarn will kick things off by playing an intimate after show at NYC's Irving Plaza. From there, he will play dates in Boston, Baltimore, Raleigh and Atlanta before heading to Bonnaroo.

It's a very limited run, so expect these tickets to go fast. Listen to my favorite track from Everyday Robots, "Lonely Press Play," and then check out the tour dates below.
