Bonus Trailer Thursday: Alternate 'Anchorman 2'

A new R-rated version of ‘Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues’ hits theaters for a week tomorrow.

In this article…

If you couldn't get enough of the Anchorman sequel when it first hit theaters, you are in for a treat. An alternate version of Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues will be released tomorrow but for only one week. Director Adam McKay was told after shooting that they had enough material for two complete films, and he had even tossed around the idea of trying to release both versions back-to-back. Now, that second version is going to see the light of day, and it is going to get pretty crazy.

The new version is rated R, will likely eclipse the 2 hours of the original sequel's running time, and will contain 763 new jokes (if the trailer is to be believed). You can catch a glimpse of some of the jokes in the trailer, and Paul Rudd debuted a new scene when he went on The Tonight Show earlier this week (before his Queen lip-sync performance). Just like the film (and Drake's Anchorman cameo afro), they look hilarious. Rudd's segment involved a joke about him giving Champ Kind's mom the Clap. That's what I'm talking about.

I didn't think things could be as insane as the original sequel, but I'm very eager to see what twisted places this new one can be brought to.
