Stephen Curry Beat the Mavericks with a Game-Winner

Stephen Curry is a bad, bad man with a basketball in his hands. This season, he is truly blossoming as the primary playmaker for the Golden State Warriors. He's assuming more responsibility and is taking advantage of it, averaging career highs in points (24.1, sixth in the league) and assists (9, third in the league). The Warriors have been up-and-down this year, and Curry hasn't been immune to it either (he's leading the league in turnovers), but he's really kicked it into gear as of late.

Curry has scored 20+ points in 15 of Golden State's 20 games and has been held to single digits just once. He's scored 20 in his last eight games, and last night he dropped 33 on the Dallas Mavericks. The biggest two came in the final seconds when he drilled the game-winner right above the right elbow. After an Andrew Bogut screen, Shawn Marion was left guarding Curry. He dribbled down the clock, then began to drift to the right with hesitation dribbles as he sized up Marion. Then with a beautiful pump fake, Marion left his feet, giving Curry all the room he would need to drain the game-winner.

Here's that luscious pump fake again in GIF form [via SBNation] so you can relive the fundamental beauty of it over and over again.

I predict this won't be the last game-winner Curry hits this season, but between him, Andre Iguodala, Klay Thompson and Harrison Barnes, Golden State has plenty of options to account for late in games.
