CMJ 2013: The Head and the Heart

A favorite with the indie folk music fans, Seattle’s The Head and the Heart wowed at the Music Hall of Williamsburg as part of their CMJ showcase.

Fresh off the release of new album Let’s Be Still, the band took the stage well after 11pm to a packed room, jumping right in with old favorites like "Coeur D’Alene," followed by some of their latest tracks.

Despite the late start, the audience got with the upbeat folk mood right away, singing along and dancing at the sold out show.

The Head and the Heart, whose shows have come to be known for their fun energetic atmosphere at festivals and venues, did not disappoint as one of CMJ’s most anticipated acts this year.

The band’s members, including the always charming Charity, got the crowd in tune with the new music by getting physical and dancing around on stage to create an even more fun vibe.

As always, The Head and the Heart gives fans exactly what they came to see, top notch indie folk music with a heart.
