With the PGA Championship set to start Aug. 8, will Woods be hot off his win at Bridgestone?

Tiger Woods Takes Bridgestone, PGA Championship To Start Thursday

Ed. Note: Tiger is playing his best golf in quite some time. If that next major doesn't come now, when will it? - Ross

Tiger Woods blew his competitors away winning the Bridgestone Invitational by 7 strokes this weekend. Woods took a lead over the field finishing with a second-round 61 putting him at -15. The following day, Woods shot a 70, parring sixteen holes, and coasted to his 8th win at Bridgestone.

With his victory last weekend, Woods has set another PGA Tour record for most wins at a single tournament. It was the first time his 4-year-old son, Charlie, had ever seen his dad win.

With the PGA Championship set to start August 8th, Woods, who may have been a favorite in the championship prior to this weekend, has perhaps made it more clear what we may expect to see as he comes off this blow-out victory.

Woods played clean, confident and safe golf, something that we have not seen him do much in major tournaments. Woods has not won in his last 17 starts in a major, which has called into question whether or not he will surpass the great Jack Nickalus' record 18 major victories (Woods currently has 14).

To further the argument against Woods, in the 19 times where he has won his last start before a major, he's only followed up with a win four times: 2000 U.S. Open (after winning The Memorial), 2001 Masters (Players), 2006 PGA (Buick) and 2007 PGA (Bridgestone).

But how can anyone ever count Tiger Woods out?
