The Tennessee Titans can't do much worse than their 6-10 record in 2012. However, not signing and starting Jonathan Willard may wreak some horrible karma on their team for 2013.

Willard, a rookie linebacker out of Clemson University, pulled off an amazing feat yesterday, saving a woman, her kids and their family dog from a burning car on Interstate 40 outside of Nashville. Jonathan, also known as "Tig," saw the burning car on the highway, happened to be in the right place at the right time, and jumped into action. The details, courtesy of TigerNet.com:

“I saw this car in front of me, and it had all kinds of black smoke coming out of it,” Willard told TigerNet Tuesday evening. “I tried to speed up and get up next to the car to let them know the car was on fire.”

Willard got up next to the car and noticed a female driver with three small children and a dog as passengers. He honked his horn and flashed his lights, finally getting the drivers’ attention and getting her to pull over.

“When she pulled over, the car was really on fire at that point,” Willard said. “The driver, she acted like she was in some kind of daze or something. She told me that she didn’t stop because she didn’t think it was her car that was on fire. Another guy stopped, and we managed to get the kids and the dog out and get them to safety, and then I finally got the woman out.”

Willard noted that he expected to see other people stop to help out, but no one did, so he knew he had to help the woman. After the incident, Willard tweeted pictures of the fire, which was a pretty significant blaze.

Willard is still fighting for a spot on the team. He went undrafted and signed with the Titans after a superb senior season at Clemson in which he led the team with 95 tackles and three sacks. Even if he doesn't NFL talent, again, the Titans better sign this guy for karma's sake.
