Chris Brown Charged in Hit-and-Run and Accused of Assault

In this article…

Chris Brown just can't seem to get himself out of hot water---for about fives years now. The singer was charged with a hit-and-run on Tuesday, shortly after being accused of assaulting a female partygoer at an Orange County nightclub.

Last month, the singer allegedly rear-ended a vehicle and allegedly failed to give the owner of the vehicle correct information. However, Brown says that statement is not true and states that he did give the woman the right info. Prosecutors say, contrary to Brown's statement, that he did not produce proof of insurance, nor did he give proof of a valid driver's license. The charges allot for a possible six month jail period for Brown for each offense. As well, there may be a violation in Brown's probation from the Rihanna assault in 2009. This could also lead to a period of four years in jail for Brown.

According to a report from the LA Times, Brown took to the online world saying,  "It's not a hit and run if u get out the car, exchange information (who has NO DAMAGE to either cars). This is really ridiculous. I have a valid drivers license and I gave the woman the right info. She saw cameras and wanted to make a scene."

After posting the vent, Brown decided to change his photo profile on Twitter to a picture of the car he hit (which showed barely any, if any, damage).  The "Don't Judge Me" singer also reportedly posted a picture of him and the lady exchanging information.

As for the accusation of an assault at the nightclub in Anaheim, Calif. earlier this week, Brown has been backed by the club owner who denies the incident occurred. Brown's rep told USA Today: "Reports that Chris Brown had physical contact with a female patron at the nightclub Heat are totally false and unfounded. Upon speaking with witnesses, security and the owner of the club, it has been proven that said patron caused the physical harm to herself in her belligerent state."
