O Music Awards Winners

The O Music Awards, a little known awards show, announced the winners of their various categories on June 19th on their website, omusicawards.com.

The awards show, which is only in their third year, is the brainchild of Viacom to honor innovations in digital music, technology, and the crossover between the two.

Since the first year of the O Music Awards, it has been known to set records and make history. In 2011, the inaugural year of this awards show, rapper Chiddy of the group Chiddy Bang received two Guinness Book of World Records titles - one for the longest freestyle rap and one for longest marathon rapping - after he performed for 9 hours, 16 minutes, and 22 seconds. Following suit, the next year a group of 13 dancers came together to get the title of longest team dance marathon. After dancing for over 24 hours, they received the title and managed to raise more than $32,000, which was donated to various charities.

This year, partier extraordinaire Andrew W.K. set the record for longest drum session in a retail store by drumming for 24 hours straight. The ante keeps getting upped each year.

Needless to say, this awards show is doing a great job of making a name for itself. This year, the O Music Awards streamed 24 hours of live music and awards to fans via their website, Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram.
