Bruce Springsteen Featured on a Dropkick Murphys Charity EP

The Dropkick Murphys released an EP today featuring Bruce Springsteen in a revamped version of the Murphys' "Rose Tattoo."

The song is just one of three tracks on the band's new EP Rose Tattoo: For Boston Charity whose proceeds go to Boston Marathon victims. The other two tracks are live acoustic versions of the Murphys "Don't Tear Us Apart" and "Jimmy Collins' Wake," which were recorded in Los Angeles days before the attack on April 15th.

The EP's proceeds all go directly to the band's Claddagh Fund, a non-profit set up to benefit those in the Boston area in need. Aside from this EP, the Dropkick Murphys previously helped out Boston Marathon victims by selling 'For Boston' t-shirts online and raising over $65,000 in 15 hours.

This isn't the first time the New Jersey native has gotten together with the Celtic punk band either. Springsteen also contributed to the band's 2011 album, Going Out in Style, and has appeared with them on stage.

The EP is available on iTunes for $1.29. Who wouldn't want to donate to this cause and receive great music in return? Sounds like a good deal to me.
