Kid Cudi Says Farewell to Mr. Rager

In this article…

These past recent months, Scott Ramon Seguro Mescudi, better known as his stage name Kid Cudi, went through drastic changes in his personal and career life. In February, Kid Cudi decided to leave his management team that included Patrick Reynolds and Emile Haynie due to conflicting ideas. But the incident that caused an alarming uproar was his tweet on April Fools Day, where he tweeted about quitting smoking marijuana for good. He elaborated on his tweet through his Tumblr blog by writing: "This is not a joke. I know most of you wanna see me all drugged out and f---ed up and i know misery loves company, but im sorry those days are over [sic], I had a good run, Amsterdam and all. Im happy being sober. Im happy being a new me.” In one instance, he told his concert audience that marijuana controlled his life to the point where he felt powerless. Fans understand marijuana is an influential factor in Kid Cudi’s life. He mentioned marijuana countless times in his songs such as “Mr. Rager,” a song dedicated to his alter ego (Mr. Rager) that takes over his self while under the influence of weed. Afterall, marijuana was his way of tapping into his creative output. When his tweet hit the fan, many fans responded negatively, “kid cudi no weed = s**tty music,” one tweeted. Others were worried, but remained loyal, “Kid Cudi quit smoking weed, aka creativity. I hope he's just pulling an #aprilfools joke. But either way I'll still be a fan :),” another tweeted. Kid Cudi is clearly looking out for his long-term well-being by cleaning up his public image. But the short-term concern to his fans and career is if these drastic changes will alter, or even debilitate, his creative output. There’s a lot of speculation about Kid Cudi’s career, but a lack of solid evidence. Every possibility seems up for grabs. One thing is for sure: Kid Cudi is confident that he knows what he’s doing. He recently established his own record label company called Wicked Awesome Records after parting with his managers. He even know the importance of getting in front of his fans and performing as he is performing his hit singles like “Day n Nite” and “Sky Might Fall” in his concert series taking place in April and July! We're going to check him out for ourselves and see if the new weed-free Kid Cudi has the same magic that we know and love. You can check him out too to witness his undeniable music talent. Check out Charged.fm for Kid Cudi Tickets. His shows are usually sold out so don't wait too long. He might just decide to go back to weed by that time and you would have missed your chance!
