The Eagles, fun., Pitbull, John Mayer among headliners.

Yesterday, Summerfest released a video featuring Lewis Black announcing it's 2013 lineup and let me tell you, this set of talent is most definitely not a disappointment.

Summerfest, held in Milwaukee, WI, is a festival that takes place over 11 days in June/July. According to their website, there are 11 stages, over 800 bands, and over 1,000 performances. The festival has been around since the mid 1960's and runs from June 26 until July 7. Performances take place every day of the festival (with the exception of July 1). The lineup this year means that festival-goers will definitely not be disappointed.

  • June 26: Violent Femmes, The Avett Brothers, and Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros
  • June 27: fun.
  • June 28: Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers
  • June 29: Jason Aldean, Jake Owen, Thomas Rhett
  • June 30: Pitbull
  • July 2: New Kids on the Block, 98º, Boyz II Men

The festival looks like it will cater to all sorts of musical genres. There's Tim Mcgraw and others to please our country-loving friends, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers/The Eagles for the oldies-loving crowd, Pitbull and fun. for the pop-loving kids, New Kids on the Block for the 90's bred, and even the Avett Brothers for the more folk-inclined.

What's most incredible about this is these big names are only the headliners for the festival. The supporting acts are just as impressive as their headlining counterparts. Groups like Billy Idol, Diplo, Imagine Dragons, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Alice Cooper, MGMT, Styx, Silversun Pickups, Pretty Lights and so many more will light up the stages.

The festival is held at Henry Maier Festival Park every year and draws 800,000 - 1,000,000 people to Milwaukee for it annually. Tickets are currently available and vary in price depending upon time you enter the event to how many days of the festival you want to attend.
