Channing Tatum looks to protect the White House and we get our first look at the new Wolverine film.

Trailer Thursday: Attack the White House AGAIN

Because of all the action packed into these two trailers, including one where the White House is under attack and the president needs saving again, I will spare the words and let the fists do the talking. Onto Trailer Thursday.

The Wolverine

Even if X-Men Origins: Wolverine wasn't the best movie, it was still a movie featuring Hugh Jackman and his fantastic portrayal of Wolverine. Jackman is just the perfect embodiment of the character, and he's back in another standalone X-Men film The Wolverine. This one sees Wolverine travel to Japan where a figure from his past (World War II) is looking to offer him an escape from his immortality. This man also happens to be terminally ill. Coincidence? Probably not. Wolverine losing his healing power adds an interesting wrinkle to Jackman's portrayal of the character, and it's an interesting storyline to follow.

The trailer shows a ton of great action sequences, including Wolverine fighting samurais and Wolverine fighting on a bullet train. The sight of Wolverine flying at me with claws unfurled on a bullet train might be enough to kill me. I'm really excited about this one, as my Zach Braff-like love for Hugh Jackman continues.

White House Down

Olympus Has Fallen White House Down stars Channing Tatum as a Capitol police officer who must save the president (Jamie Foxx) after the White House gets overtaken by a paramilitary group (led by Jason Clarke, who gave a strong turn in Zero Dark Thirty). The trailer is very minimalist, but it is incredibly effective. The lack of sound effects plays up what could be happening, and that builds up the hype even further.

The only drawback with the choice of the trailer is that we don't get any sort of glimpse into who the characters are, especially Jason Clarke's villain. But you can't watch that movie and say you were left not wanting to watch it. You come away saying "I NEED TO SEE THIS MOVIE."
