Paul McCartney, Mumford & Sons, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers Headlining Bonnaroo

Bonnaroo announced their 2013 lineup today, and they did it in unique fashion with a live-stream hosted by Weird Al Yankovic. Al and guests didn't announce all of the acts, but they got around to most of them, and there are some big names on the dockett this year.

Paul McCartney, Mumford & Sons, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Björk, and Wilco will all headline the festival the Tennessee festival this June. You're also going to get acts like Pretty Lights, R. Kelly (who is headlining Pitchfork's Music Festival in Chicago this Summer), Wu-Tang Clan, The National, The Lumineers, David Byrne & St. Vincent, Passion Pit, The xx, Kendrick Lamar, Animal Collective, Grizzly Bear, Of Monsters and Men, and that probably doesn't even exhaust the first quarter of the acts announced.

McCartney headlining Bonnaroo in 2013 seems like such a strange sentence to be typing, but how awesome is it that McCartney will be playing to a bunch of sweaty, dirty hippies at the ripe old age of 70. Would McCartney ever agree to perform with holograms? This would be the perfect venue to trot out Lennon and Harrison holograms and rock a Beatles "reunion" for all the tripped out concertgoers.

The festival has as diverse and eclectic a lineup as ever, with a little something for everybody. When you go down the list and keep finding incredible acts like Allen Stone, Killer Mike, Billy Idol, you know just how deep this festival really is. Bonnaroo, which is held in Manchester, Tennessee every summer, still has more names to announce in addition to the large amount they revealed today. Below is the Daniel Tosh-narrated lineup video (Tosh will be headlining the comedy lineup) and the lineup as of right now.
