Keef release his highly anticipated track of “Finally Rich”

New Music: Chief Keef -

A lot of hype has surrounded Chief Keef since he has blown up with his hits "I Don't Like" and "Love Sosa." With his debut album on the way, one song in particular has created a buzz among industry people and fans a like. The song is called "Hate Bein Sober" and it features 50 Cent and Wiz Khalifa. The track has created a buzz for how it sounds, but also many other reasons.

When it came to shooting a video for this song Keef did not attend the shoot in the desert. That left two established superstars, Wiz and Fif, just hanging out together waiting for the youngster to show up. One would think that if two big names in the game come out to shoot your video with you, your main priority would be to show up.

"Hate Bein Sober" sounds like any other Chief Keef songs, which means that everyone will love it. The phrase "hate bein sober" is catchy and will be seen on many news feeds on Fridays and Saturday nights. The melody of the words on top of a typical Young Chop production has proved to be a potent combination. If there's anything to applaud Keef on it is his ability to harmonize or trap beats. I have some trouble understanding what he says sometimes due to his mush mouth, but I don't think the lyrics truly matter. I believe this is a trend that has started and will continue to take over the rap game.

Joining Keef on this track are the aforementioned big names. Fif's verse is actually impressive. What I found interesting is that he talks about drinking and smoking, which are two vices that he does not participate in. Fifty is all about his health so being sober is a luxury that he fully enjoys. I don't hate him for his verse because this would not be the first time a rapper talked about something they never did. At one point Fifty even changes up his flow and the results are fun to listen to.

Wiz Khalifa fits perfectly on this track. The Taylor Gang rapper lives his life never sober. Smoking more then he breaths and drinking till he can't stand are regular occurrences for him. His style of rap also fits this beat. Wiz has shown that he can rap on trap beats just as well as anyone with his mixtape series Cabin Fever. Both editions showed his use of melodies on trap beats. Wiz applies that style to this track and it is why I think he has the best verse. Listen to "Hate Bein Sober" below.

The track is a solid showing for a new artist. I don't believe that he will do big numbers with this album, but I do see many catchy songs coming from this project. Be on the look out Chief Keef's album Finally Rich drops on December 18th.
