Keith Urban
Performing July 18th, 2013
As country superstar Keith Urban recently wrapped up his duties coaching for Austrailia's version of “The Voice,” he has now decided that he's ready to get the tracks rolling again and begin writing and recording a brand new album. In an “Urban Chat” video, Urban mentioned that although he has gotten some new music out this past year, he's “really anxious to get back in the actual studio and really start working on an album. I've got a bunch of songs that I'm really excited about getting in and recording,” he told The Boot, just Monday morning. Urban also confirmed that in addition to progressive work on a new album this summer, he will soon be announcing plans for a new tour as well, hitting Austrailia first and the U.S. sometime next year.
“Lots of stuff coming down the pipeline,” he continued, adding, “I'm jonesing to get back on stage anywhere … anywhere sometime soon.”
He also provided a little insight as to what fans should expect with regards to a new sound. “My intention for the record is to start exploring the stories in my own life. There's plenty of them, and I've been through a lot of things and there's a lot more of that exploration that's happening already. I think it is taking shape a little bit. It feels like it's the first one.” Some short stories about Urban's life? Now that's country music!
We can only expect great things from an even greater artist, as country music continues to thrive through the summer, and the pieces of Urban's life-inspired album begin to mold together. In the meantime, his Austrailian Tour will begin on January 25th, 2013, with two shows in Brisbane, followed by shows in Melbourne and Sydney.
