2012 Hackney Weekend Bigger Than Ever

by Alexander Trimes Photo of Alexander Trimes

100,000 fans flocked to East London for this year's BBC Radio 1 Hackney Weekend

With the Olympics just under a month away, it was the spirit of music, not competition, that attracted thousands of fans to East London this weekend. Top artists such as Jay-Z, Florence + The Machine, Enter Shikari, and Jack White performed live as part of the BBC Radio 1's annual Hackney Weekend and crowds poured in to participate in the free event.

The network announced that this was their largest event ever as a staggering 100,000 attendees flooded into the Hackney Marshes for 48 hours of music. And from the looks of things, no one was left unsatisfied as over 80 musicians from a variety of genres captivated crowds from six stages. Now all we need is a free show like this in the states.

Let CHARGED.fm get you tickets to see your favorite artists live this summer.
