New York Yankees
Performing now!
This is one of those cases where you just have to wonder why. Coming off an incredibly shaky outing against Baltimore, it looks like Mets closer Frank Francisco wants to shake things up just a little more before heading into the weekend series with the Yankees. When talking about facing Yankee hitters, Francisco said, “I can't wait to strike out those chickens,” and this is all assuming he even gets the opportunity to do so, but I mean I don't think there's any reason why he wouldn't, the Mets always give the Yankees a run for their money. Except when the Yankees swept the Mets only two weeks ago, clubbing eight home runs in the process.
In all seriousness though, the Mets are a much better team now then they were then, and Francisco's comments probably illustrate that better than anything. Apparently taking the field with an abundance of confidence, it would be surprising if the Mets were swept once again, but it is the Mets after all so it wouldn't shocking. The Mets also have their newfound ace R.A. Dickey pitching in this series after sitting out the last time these two teams met. Coming off a sweep of their own, expect Francisco to get an opportunity to back up his words as the two teams meet in Flushing for the final time this season.
Let CHARGED.fm help you see the Mets take on the Yankees this weekend at Citi Field.
