With a soul-clenching approach to his newest album “Believe,” which dropped this Tuesday, June 19, Justin Bieber has once again stolen the hearts of many “Beliebers” around the world. His combination of soul, R&B, and Pop music has already worked well for the young sensation. We know all of the big hits already including the album's first track “All Around The World,” which has the power to blow speakers globally. Its techno/club sound is an excellent representation of what makes a good pop song endure. Then there's “Boyfriend,” which still shines through and contains that soft, whispery rhythm that has allowed fans to get a sense of his love-sick sweetness. That kind of feeling is further shown in “Catching Feelings.”
My personal favorite single remains “Die in Your Arms,” which released before the album. I believe that track can be set a part from the others because it creates a very soulful feeling, one that you would almost find performed during Church, except it's designed for the fans and generation. Bieber's voice is crystal clear, and also expresses much emotion through the beats and music combined. His energetic attitude is also evident throughout the track, and creates for a soothing and joyful atmosphere.
Some of what I would have liked to see is maybe a difference in theme for some of the tracks. One of the best qualities of Justin Bieber is his ability to capture emotion in his music, which we all know drives the girls of this generation up a wall. However, each song represents love/feelings in some aspect, though love is not the only existing part of what has brought Bieber to “Believe.” Part of me felt as though I was listening to a Taylor Swift CD with a little R&B mixed in. I am certain the star could relate to other experiences throughout his journey other than love and intimacy.
All in all, the album is extraordinarily inspiring, and the beautifully written and performed song which nonetheless shines on the album is “Believe,” representing all that Bieber has accomplished and highlighting his best moments. It has an incredible power that serenades the soul and moves fans to indeed believe that they can accomplish anything they want. The strength and perseverance shown is breathtaking, with lyrics like “Cause everything starts from something/but something would be nothing/nothing if your heart didn't dream with me,” captivates the heart, and significance in not only believing in oneself, but others as well. If you haven't yet heard Justin Bieber's new album, it is now available for purchase on iTunes.
