Despite the tragedy surrounding the stage collapsing at what would have been the Radiohead concert this past weekend in Toronto, the MuchMusic Video Awards dazzled downtown Toronto last night with some of your favorite artists walking the red carpet and taking the stage. Hosted by none other than fan favorite LMFAO, it's fitting that the pop-duo walked away with the prize for International Video of the Year (Group) for “Sexy And I Know It.”
Canada's own Justin Bieber performed and stole the show with International Video of the Year by a Canadian for “Boyfriend” and UR Fave [Canadian] Artist.
Carly Rae Jepsen cleaned house winning three awards for her breakout hit “Call Me Maybe,” including UR Fave Video of the Year, MuchMusic.com's Most Watched Video, and the prized Video of the Year. She also performed alongside “Wild One” singer, Flo Rida.
Katy Perry transformed before our eyes, donning a sparkly nude bodysuit and beautiful butterfly wings during her stellar performance of “Wide Awake.” The singer took home International Video of the Year (Artist) for “Last Friday Night: T.G.I.F.” and UR Fave International Artist.
Other winners included The Sheepdogs, Mariana's Trench, City and Colour, Down With Webster, and Drake.
Also taking the stage at MuchMusic Head Quarters was Kelly Clarkson, Ed Sheeran, Mariana's Trench, Kreesha Turner, Nelly Furtado, and LMFAO.
