Call Me, Fallon

Fallon, Jepsen, and The Roots put on a private performance of Call Me, Maybe.

Jimmy Fallon, Carly Rae Jepsen, and The Roots walk into a bar… or rather crowd into a small dressing room before last night’s episode of Late Night with Jimmy Fallon to film a private performance of “Call Me Maybe.” There was one catch though; the troupe limited themselves to the instruments one might find in an elementary school classroom.

Now, with so many parodies of Jepsen’s hit already out (see The Key of Awesome #58, the Miami Dolphin cheerleaders, and these guys) it was only a matter of time until she joined in on one. Surprisingly, and without a single professional synth to be heard, the group produced a funny and refreshing remake of a song that we can all agree has been gratuitously overplayed by almost every major music station.

Jepsen went on to perform the song as we’re accustomed to hearing it during the program, which also served as her national TV debut (check it out below), but I think we all know that the real hit from last night’s episode didn’t air until today.

Let CHARGED.fm get you tickets to see Carly Rae Jepsen at Summer Mixtape Fest.
